Introduction

Extol MSC Berhad is an ICT security solutions provider offering one-stop end-to-end solution services encompassing all aspects of ICT security, including managed security solutions, implementation and consultancy. In meeting the challenges of escalating security threats, we have evolved to become the leading provider of simple, cost-efficient and effective ICT security management systems, protecting organisations from security threats, such as malicious codes (viruses), network intrusions and fraudulent use of ICT systems.

History

Our history goes back to 1984 when Extol Corporation, a member of the Extol MSC Berhad, was incorporated and operated as a distributor of ICT hardware and software products. Incepted in 1990, we were one of the first Malaysian companies to have internally developed a commercially-viable anti-virus software called the Armour and initiated strategic technological partnerships such as Norman DDS (a Norwegian anti-virus software developer) for technological exchanges in terms of anti-virus applications.

Extol provides proactive security analysis, develops robust security architecture and delivers first class solutions and services to meet customer satisfaction. Extol works in partnership with the various Information Security bodies and consultants, Internal Audit, Compliance and Information Technology representatives to meet its mission and goals and to protect the interest of all stakeholders.

Introduction
Extol has taken further initiatives to improve our current management systems and ensures that we are on the right path by participating in the TUV Rheinland’s Star rating. The comprehensive approach evaluates nine dimensions of the company which consist corporate governance, social responsibility, environment, occupational health & safety, quality/customer focus, information security, financial disclosure, brand/innovation and fair trade and competition.

Recognition / Certification
Currently Extol is certified to:


ISO 27001
Information security management system (ISMS) standard is to ensure there are adequate and proportionate security controls that protect information assets, physical assets and give confidence to interested parties
ISO 9001
A quality management system (QMS) standard which aims to reduce and eventually eliminate non conformance to specifications, standards, and customer expectations in the most cost effective and efficient manner
CMMI
Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) is a process improvement approach for evaluating how efficiently a company is able to deliver technological products to its customers. Extol is matured to Level 3 for the software development
TUV Rheinland’s STAR

Introduction
Provide work experience opportunity to fresh graduates. This includes part-time, internship and contract based employment.

Maintain a strong corporate image to customers, business-partners and other business associates.

Ethics
All employees are responsible in ensuring that Extol’s business is conducted with high ethical and legal principles.
  • Our policy is to operate within the law.
  • Discrimination or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • No bribes shall be given or received.
  • Conflicts of interest should be avoided between employees; between employees and employers, and between the organization and business associates. Any conflict arising should be resolved amicably.

Health and Safety
All employees are responsible for ensuring the business unit conforms to local statutory health and safety regulations. We adhere to Work Environment guidelines, as well as occupational health and safety measures.

Environmental
We take positive steps to reduce energy consumption, such as turning off electricity power when not in use, to use water sparingly, copy and print on both sides of paper. Printing is discouraged unless necessary. Please refer to “Our Environmental Policy” for further details.
